FAQ'S
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING MY FIRST SESSION?
Your first session begins with a conversation about what you’re feeling, what you want to improve, and how your body has been responding lately. From there, the session is shaped around your needs instead of following a fixed routine. The work is focused on the areas that need the most attention, with the goal of helping you move better, feel less restricted, and leave with a real sense of progress.
HOW IS THERAPEUTIC BODYWORK DIFFERENT FROM A REGULAR MASSAGE?
Therapeutic bodywork is more focused, intentional, and results-oriented than a general relaxation massage. Instead of using the same approach for everyone, the session is adjusted based on what your body needs most and what you want to improve. The focus is on reducing built-up tension, improving mobility, supporting recovery, and helping you function better in training, work, and daily life.
IS THE WORK PAINFUL?
While we work deep into muscle tissue, we always prioritize effective communication. You may feel productive discomfort as we release long-standing tension, but we never push beyond your tolerance. The Goal is physical improvement, not simple relaxation.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
Some areas may feel intense, especially where there is long-standing tension or restriction, but the work should always feel productive and manageable. The goal is not to force pain, but to work effectively at a level your body can respond well to. Communication matters throughout the session, and pressure can always be adjusted as needed.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I COME IN?
That depends on your goals, how your body feels day to day, and how long the issue has been building. Some people come in occasionally for maintenance, while others do better with more consistent sessions for a period of time. The right frequency depends on your goals, schedule, and how your body responds.
SHOULD I BOOK 60 OR 90 MINUTES?
If you want focused work on one or two main areas, 60 minutes is often enough. If you have multiple areas of tension, want more complete work, or prefer a less rushed session, 90 minutes is usually the better option. If you are unsure, 90 minutes is often a strong choice for a first visit.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR OR KNOW BEFORE MY SESSION?
Wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move in. If legs are one of the main areas being worked on, shorts are highly recommended. For women, a regular bra is usually better than a sports bra, since it allows easier access to the back and shoulders without needing to remove it completely during the session. If you are unsure what to wear, feel free to ask before your appointment.
ARE TECHNIQUES LIKE CUPPING, PERCUSSION THERAPY, TAPING, OR COMPRESSION BOOTS INCLUDED?
Yes. When appropriate, supportive methods such as assisted stretching, percussion therapy, cupping, kinesiology taping, trigger point work, or Normatec compression boots may be incorporated into the session at no extra charge. These are used when they make sense for your needs and session goals, not as separate upsells.
DO YOU WORK WITH ATHLETES ONLY?
No. While many clients are active adults, runners, lifters, and athletes, this work is not limited to athletic populations. It is also a strong fit for people dealing with everyday tension, stiffness, movement restrictions, or the physical effects of long hours of sitting, repetitive work, or daily stress.
